We started our day by going surfing. My sister and I both got up and it was very fun. After that we went horseback riding in a tropical rainforest. Gabby wanted to paint a ukulele and she did it while my parents and I went swimming at the beach. We finished the busy day by going to a Luau which celebrated the food, the music, and the dance of the Polynesian people. We over ate but it was so delicious!
Today we woke up early to take surfing lessons but it got cancelled because we did not have enough waves. So we walked a bit and we saw a banyan tree that spreads over one block. It was humongous. After we went back to black rock beach where we swam for the whole morning. For lunch we went Bubba Gump Shrimp Factory.It was Awesome for us shrimp lovers! After that we went shopping at Lahaina for a bit. We went back to the beach and swam. This is a nice rainbow from are hotel.
We started off the day by waking up early in the morning to drive the road to Hana. It was a long drive . We saw a rainforest, amazing ocean views, nice plants, big waterfalls and windy roads. It takes a real talented driver to ride this road. ( 51 one way bridges and over 600 curves). There were many pits stop where you can stop and munch on something that comes from Maui. After that we went in Haleakala national park and did a hike to see the bamboo forest. It was really cool. Note: do not wear flip flops on this hike. It will give you very sore feet! Gabbie had that blister experience!! Who knew that lava rock could erode into black sand? We swam at Black Sand Beach and explored caves. After supper we played ping pong and it was fun and relaxing.
We had a laid-back day we spent the hole day at the beach. We got body boarded and we were belly surfing the waves. That was the end of our laid-back day.
We started off the day with waking up early to go on a boat to see whales, dolphins, sea turtles and fish. We arrived at the boat that is called the Maui magic.( If anybody comes to Maui you should do the tour) First stop, we saw whales. They were splashing around. Second spot we saw spinning dolphins.The dolphins invented a game with a leaf so one dolphin had a leaf and put it on its fin. Then they passed it on to the next dolphin. Our third stop was at Molikini where we saw lots of nice fish. (My family favourite fish was the puffer fish or the trumpet fish). Our fourth stop was turtle town. We got to swim with the sea turtles but we weren't allowed to touch them. But people did sadly. After the snorkelling tour we went to the tropical plantation. It was really fun we got to try an apple banana fresh off the tree. Iit was really good. We tried real coconut from the tree too! It was the best coconut I ever tasted. And that's the end of our day.!!
So it was last day at our first hotel. We had an amazing breakfast buffet! After breakfast we went snorkelling in our beach with fish! It was amazing to see so many different fish.
After seeing lots of fish we went for a ride to see the lava rock. We went to the place where the last volcano explosion in Maui 200 years ago. The old lava was black. We collected some lava rocks. After that it was a switch of hotel. We arrived at our new hotel but it was not ready so we went shopping at the mall. Outdoor malls are really neat.
Let's just say that we had an early start in the morning at 4:30 am and Gabby 2:30.(regular time 9:30 and 7:30). We decided to take snorkelling lessons. We learned technique and we had lots of fun.
We decided to try something new. It iis called Huka. It is a mixture of scuba diving and snorkelling and is really fun. So we decided to go in the ocean to try it. We saw about 20 fish. After that we went back to our beach. We went to a golf course to eat lunch. It was a beautiful view and delicious food.
After lunch we went to Big Beach and we played in the waves. We really felt the undercurrent and it was so fun . We also got scratched by the sand and we got sand all over our bodies. We will probably go there again tomorrow! Liam was a sand monster. If you look at the picture Liam had sand all over himself!!!
After a long flight we are finally here. First big surprise was that mom and dad forgot to tell us that they had rented a convertible. After we went to a restaurant called three's, the food was delicious. After a great lunch we went swimming in the ocean very close to are hotel. P.S? I Gabbie lost my goggle, in a big wave. Oups! After we went swimming we opened or roof and went to a restaurant called 5palms for appetizer.wile we where waiting me and Gabbie saw a big splash pretty far from we're we where. Liam said that he saw a whale I agreed everybody saw the splash and the tale it was awesome! That was day 1#.
Well a few more days and we are off. Liam had opportunity to celebrate his birthday on several occasions before we left. From Pizza with my family, to Hot Pot cooking with friends from work, Skyping to Ottawa or Sushi with Baba, Liam's endless birthday party has been quite diverse.
